You must be an Irish citizen in order to be eligible for an Irish passport.

Irish passports for adults are valid for ten years. To continue to travel abroad after the time expires, you will have to apply to renew your Irish passport. You may also wish to apply to renew your passport because:

Online renewals take around 10 working days to process after you finish your renewal application.

If your current passport has more than 12 months validity at the time of your renewal application, you will need to renew your passport directly with the Irish government.

What do you think when you hear about St. Patrick’s day, leprechauns, and clovers? If your answer was “Ireland,” then you’re right! It is one of the most influential countries worldwide due to its massive settlement in English-speaking countries such as the United States. Ireland is a country located in the European continent, and the United Kingdom mainly borders it. Even though English is its main spoken language, other regional ones are part of their culture as well. Despite having one of the smallest territories in the region, it is also one of the most impressive ones. Ireland is ideal for those who would like to go on a city break, start a new travel adventure, or have an unforgettable vacation with their family or friends. If you’re interested in visiting Ireland soon, but you haven’t decided where to go, there’s nothing to worry about! iVisa.com will recommend some fascinating tourist attractions you must visit in Ireland.

For starters, Dublin must be your first stop when touring Ireland. It is a welcoming city that has so much to offer to all of its visitors. If you're someone who would love to drink one of the best pints or dishes in the country, you should go to Temple Bar. It is located in the middle of Dame Street and the Liffey River. It has one of the most extraordinary atmospheres despite being filled with locals and tourists. You will be able to listen to live music and hear one of the most challenging accents in English: the Irish one.

For beer lovers, the Guinness Storehouse, the Guinness brewery, and the warehouse are another must-see in Dublin. Even though it is now a museum, it used to be a factory to produce the world-famous dark beer. Arriving at this exact point will be great if you're interested in learning how it is made. It has 7 floors where you will be able to understand how it all started with the signed contract by Arthur Guinness, almost 3 centuries ago, to its production stages. Once you arrive at the top of the place, you will enter the Gravity Bar, where you can have a pint of fresh stout, with one of the jaw-dropping scenes of Dublin in the background.

Did you know that there’s a legend that says that St. Patrick expelled all snakes from Ireland? It may be curious for some people, but most travelers usually arrive here to discover it by themselves. But if you’re in Dublin, you might not find any of them. Nevertheless, you can visit St. Patrick’s cathedral. Although his tomb is not there, it is a temple dedicated to him. It traced back to an old wooden chapel in the V century that was turned into one of the region’s most stunning Roman Catholic temples in the XII century.

Moving to other tourist attractions outside Dublin, you will find medieval castles throughout the country. One of them is the Blarney Castle. It used to be a fort, and now it has become an iconic symbol of Irish culture. Unfortunately, most of it is already destroyed, but you will be able to look at it without any risk.

Are you a Harry Potter fan? If that’s the case, you may already know Ireland more than you think! As you know, two Harry Potter movies were filmed in the country. To be precise, some scenes were recorded in the Cliffs of Moher and the Lemon Rock. The first place is located on the West Coast of Ireland. It reaches around 400 feet tall and has breathtaking landscapes that you won’t forget in your life. On the other side, you can find Lemon Rock in County Kerry. At this exact point, some Star Wars movie scenes were filmed as well.

Do you prefer ecotourism instead? There’s no doubt you should go to Killarney National Park. It is located in County Kerry, one of the country’s most stunning and visited regions. You will be able to discover the highest mountain in Ireland where you will have the most astonishing views. Besides, lakes and forests are common on this point. Nearby this hidden gem in the southwest, you will find the town of Killarney, a very charming place.

If you like historical places, Clonmacnoise is waiting for you. It is primarily a ruined religious center built over centuries due to the different barbaric invasions that destroyed them every time they arrived at this point.

As a curious fact, Halloween is a holiday that has Irish origins. It used to be celebrated by the Samhain centuries ago. Then, it was a feast dedicated to scaring away evil spirits and communicating with the deceased. Every October 31, the veil between the living and the dead dissipates, thus facilitating contact between the two worlds. To have a spooky season, you have to visit The Hellfire Club in County Dublin. According to a popular legend, someone could play cards with the devil.

In addition, don’t forget to try the exquisite traditional Irish food when visiting different restaurants or pubs. Some of our recommendations are Irish Beef, Coddle, Cottage Pie, and Carrot Cake.

Who would think that Ireland is as enchanting as we have mentioned so far? Visiting this country requires having all your travel documents up to date, including your passport. If you’re an Irish citizen interested in learning more about the Ireland Passport Renewal, you will need to contact the respective authorities and complete the traditional procedure. On the other hand, if you’re an American citizen who is already delighted with Irish culture, history, and landscapes, you will need to renew your passport first before planning your trip. We understand that it may be hard to complete by yourself. That’s why you can get your passport renewal with iVisa.com.
